Summer Style | Beat The Heat

This post is sponsored by Target.

With temperatures rising into 115 degrees, this past weekend, I tried to beat the Vegas heat with deep mediation and a slew of Target sun care products from Laneige, Bare Republic, and Frederic Fekkai.

Fab Find | Loeffler Randall

Loeffler Randall never fails with style, quality, and real world prices. And with summer sales in full swing, its Spring/Summer collection make for de facto arm candy. I've picked out my favorites and with current sales, nothing is over $500! To shop, click on the individual images.

Fitness | My Liquid Army

This post is sponsored by fairlife ultra-filtered milk
It's been two weeks since I started my Good, Bad, and FIT journey as a recent close encounter with the scale triggered a reevaluation of my fitness regimen and eating habits. I've learned a few new things and picked up a few new tips!

Fab Find | Charriol

This week's discovery is Charriol, a classic Swiss jewelry brand that patented the cable jewelry look with updated style and on point price points! It's quite hard to contain my excitement for this Geneva brand so I've made edits of my favorites bankable pieces that definitely won't break the bank.

Red Carpet Style | Modern Flapper

Channeled modern retro at last week's Skinny Cow Speakeasy where I floated on chocolate euphoria.

I wore a Rebecca Vallance silk printed Betty Bop dress to last week's Skinny Cow summer Speakeasy in Downtown LA. To compliment the dress's modern retro twist, I teamed up with Clear Hair and the incredibly talented celebrity stylist Riawna Capri of Nine Zero One Salon to create side swept retro curls. A few key statement pieces completed the look!

My Secret To Living Extraordinary Moments

This post is sponsored by Skinny Cow
My secret to living extraordinary moments is to indulge in wanderlust as I'm just a daydream away from my next travel adventure!

My Travel Food Diary

The most shocking moment of my visit to the gyno yesterday was when I stepped on the scale and a never-before-seen three digit number flashed back at me. I leapt off like I had just stepped in fire. My whole body burned with disbelief as the realization that I am the heaviest I've ever been slowly percolated and set in. I'm even heavier than freshmen year in high school when afternoon snacks consisted of El Pollo Loco BRC burritos chased with Foster Freeze dipped cones.

Instinctively I went into denial. Is the scale broken? Perhaps my Hanes sweatpants weigh ten pounds Maybe it all went to my boobs and ass? How did this happen? I've been exercising regularly without deviating from my normal food habits. Did I have a thyroid issue? Are birth control pills to blame? Is this just what happens with age? And then, the last few months flashed back as I realized I haven't been eating normal at all.  With all the traveling, business lunches, dinners, and eating out almost every single meal, I'd let myself go. Literally. Carbs have always my best friend/worst enemy. There's no carb I don't love, the puffier the better, and they all seem to puff me up.  Yet I've been reaching for the restaurant bread bowls almost every single time. And what's even more irresistible? Sweets! And when you're always eating out, dessert always creeps its way into the equation.

I'm hitting the road again in a few weeks so until then I'm going to amp up my workouts and tone down the calories. It's nothing drastic, just a 1200 calories a day intake focusing on fresh produce, soy-based protein, and replacing dessert with other indulgences like chocolate flavored tea, fresh fruit, and Skinny Cow treats. In an effort to bring some closure and to say goodbye to my eating indiscretions, here's a trip down my food memory lane.

Friday Fab | Sophie Hulme

She might be British but Sophie Hulme's collection of spring/summer handbags embodies LA summer, the supple leather version. I've been a fan of her line for years and am loving the ease of her cross-body envelope bags and clutches. Vibrant colors, classic style, and a moderate price tag make for a perfect work to play purse. Click on the purses for more info.
