The drive from SF to Napa was so picturesque, so scenic that by the time we arrived at the Meritage Resort and Spa, I knew that I was going to love Napa.

But of course, we had to check out the resort's wine cave and tasting room which sits at the base of the vineyards. Although the tasting room was closed for a wedding, we took a cave tour to wet our beaks before dinner. Strolling through the resort grounds with the sun slowly setting behind the vineyards was so idyllic and just what I imagined Napa to be.
