The Soul Behind The Shoe

I think shoe designers live a life relatively more obscure and private than that of clothing designers.  Nowadays, clothing designers are celebrated in pretty much the same fashion as movie stars.  We can spot Donatella and Donna Karan from across the runway floor, but would you recognize Kirkwood or Louboutin? Probably not.  I think it's due to the absence of runway shows for shoe collections, and divergent marketing and advertising strategies.  Nonetheless, I think it's important to know the face behind the shoe.  After all, how are you going to get Mr. Louboutin to sign your bitch red soles if you don't even know what the shoe genius looks like?
