Taking a photo journey down Christmas in Acapulco memory lane and a look at how I do resort to winter skincare.

Although I was in Acapulco less than a month ago, it feels like it's been ages, as I'm now 100% off my holiday hiatus and 200% back into the thick of things. And, in all honesty, I miss hiatus life! It felt really good to take time off from work and to spend that time with my family, friends, and Netflix. Seriously, life boils down to its beautiful simplicity when the only "to do" on the list circles around what to eat and what to watch!

I loved our family Christmas in Acapulco, as our time together exemplified the meaning of a simple and easy vacation. We really didn't do much aside from lounging by the pool, working out, and watching sunsets while eating heaping pyramids of tacos. At first, I wasn't used to it, as there was a natural inclination to set a schedule and do...stuff. But thanks to my yogi brother, I was able to let go and really get into the spirit of mellowing out. And you know what else mellowed out? My beauty routine! Although I'd brought an arsenal of skin-care products, as I'd figured it would be the perfect time to experiment with new products, after a few days I noticed I kept using the same ones because the combo made my skin feel good. It's a very simple skin-care routine that doesn't require a lot of effort, time, or money, and all the products were purchased at Target.

I cleanse my face with Simple Skincare Moisturizing Facial Wash. With no dyes or harsh chemicals, it's gentle on my skin and washes away all traces of debris and makeup. And it's moisturizing which means I can use it day and night. Then I apply a thin layer of Acure Organics Moroccan Argan Oil to my dry cheeks for a healthy glow and all-day hydration. It's cold-pressed, unrefined, and filled with skin enriching Vitamin E and essential oils that won't clog pores while helping to erase all signs of aging with nourishing proteins. I then dab RoC Retinol Correxion Eye Cream to the under-eye area. I've been using RoC products for the past year and absolutely love its leading line of anti-aging retinol ingredients that are gentle on my sensitive skin. This is the first retinol infused eye cream that doesn't irritate my super delicate eye area! Instead of using a separate moisturizer and SPF, I use RoC Multi-Correxion 5 in 1 Daily Moisturizer with SPF 30. I love the travel friendly packaging and its powerful ingredients are targeted at fighting discoloration and dryness. It provides great sun protection as I've yet had to reapply during the day. Every other night, I use Acure Brightening Facial Scrub to exfoliate and deep clean. With all the recent controversy surrounding microbeads, I feel good knowing I'm using an all-natural product.  Lastly, I use my Acure Cell Stimulating Face Mask about once a week. It's perhaps the most potent all-natural mask I've ever used as it contains ingredients like Argan stem cell and chlorella growth factor to plump up and even out the skin.

The routine was so effective that after I got back to L.A.,  I continued to use those same products, as they've kept my skin healthy, glowing, and hydrated—from the humid beachy climate of Acapulco to LA's dry El Nino weather!
