{GBF Red Carpet Remix} Romance at The Grammys

The sound of music invaded LA last week as Grammy Week festivities erupted all over the city. Unwilling to deprive my ears of the musical feast, I stayed up way past my bedtime and played witness to some incredible moments. The Levi's x Miguel concert brought together an assortment of Hollywood influencers gyrating in unison to the sensual and silky sounds of an amazing talent. When Miguel started belting out Adorn, I squealed and jumped, adoring and freezing every single note. Two days later, gears shifted for the will.i.am TRANS4M benefit concert where the souls of old school hip hop rocked the stage. There's really no going back after experiencing Chaka Khan, Bizmarkie, and Busta Rhymes as I've been thugging out to 90s hip hop in my living all week albeit in my fuzzy pink robe.

Second to the music is the Grammy fashion. It's one of my favorite red carpets as the stars brazenly take risks and flirt with fashion. I gasped when Queen B changed into her lacy Michael Costello stunner, a racy look only Beyonce can pull off. Other favorites included the blinding metallic gowns worn by Taylor Swift and Chrissy Teigen striking the perfect balance between lady and rock "n" roll.

Taking cues from my three favorite Grammy looks, I put together a budget friendly date night outfit with the help of Discover Card. I paired an ethereal chiffon blouse intricately laced with collar details with a pair of gold metallic textured shorts. Both pieces are from H&M and retail for under $50! Although statement making in its shine factor, the rounded edge of the metallic shorts compliments the soft lace top creating a fun alternative to wearing dresses on a night of romance.

{GBF Beauty + Giveaway} A New Routine

For years, I've been admiring Biotherm from afar. Every time my girlfriends and I dive into a beauty discussion, a long list of Biotherm products always get thrown into the mix. Founded in 1952, the French brand specializes in biological skincare research. All of their products contain thermal plankton, a micro-organism found in the hot springs of the Pyrenees Mountains. Thermal plankton is now reproduced via bio-fermentation and has the capacity to stimulate the skin’s natural defenses. Over the years, the company has accomplished what few dare to imagine-it has cultivated and built its reputation mainly through word of mouth. Biotherm is the low key beauty brand that's high in demand.

In celebration of Lunar New Year, Biotherm is offering $20 off any purchase over $80 (enter code HORSE valid 1.29 to 2.3.) They've also sent me a set of eight of their iconic products which I can't wait to incorporate into my skincare routine. The best part? They are gifting one lucky reader the entire set so that we can start our Biotherm journey together!

Scroll down to enter the GBF x Biotherm Lunar New Year giveaway and don't forget to leave a comment and tell me what's your favorite product. Good luck!

{GBF Life + Style} What I'm Wearing On Lunar New Year

This Friday is Lunar New Year which marks both the end of the reign of the Snake and my Dad's year-long cohabitation with red underwear. He was born in the year of the Snake and according to Chinese tradition, one should wear the color red every single day during their zodiac year to ward off bad luck. My Dad didn't want to wear a Kabbalah look-alike bracelet or tie a red string around his neck for 365 days so he asked my Mom and I to buy him a laundry cycle's worth of red underwear. It was the most awkward shopping trip ever.

A different kind of shopping took place this past Saturday when I hosted the Macy's Lunar New Year event. It was so much fun chatting and providing style and beauty tips to the shoppers. I also found the perfect jumpsuit for dinner on New Year's eve. It's a departure from the traditional CNY red and gold dress yet still appropriately festive. The floral wide leg jumpsuit gives off a boho edge but looks put together when layered with a structured top. It's also fabulously functional as I refuse to wear anything with a waistband when eating at my parent's house.

If you were born in the year of the Horse, you can buy your red undies here: men | women. Happy New Year and gong xi fa cai!

{GBF Life + Style} LuLu*s The Great Galentine's Giveaway: Win Free Dresses for a Year!

When I was in elementary school, Valentine's Day was a shared experience. I'd pick out a box of cards from Target, fill them with pastel heart shaped candy etched with cute messages and pass them out to everyone in my class. Of course, for my crushes (plural because I was a player and was usually crushing on five or six boys at a time), I'd filter and cram in candy with the steamy messages like, "be mine" and "you're cute" hoping they'd get the message. It was so fun to spread the spirit of Valentine's Day to more than just one person.

So this year, I'm turning back the hands of time by celebrating not just the person but rather the people in my life who are the loves of my life. My gal pal Taye is one of those people. I feel so incredibly at ease and happy around her as she always casts a bright light on my life. Together, we've shared some  amazing moments and I'm sure more are just waiting in the wings. To celebrate Galentine's Day, we've partnered with LuLu*s for the fabulous Galentine's Day giveaway where one lucky gal (and her best pal) will win one dress a month for all of 2014! Follow the link to enter and refer your best gal pal with your custom generated link for a chance to win!

If you find yourself spending Valentine's Day with the special gals in your life, pick an outfit that's fun, cute, and for female eyes only. For our first look, Taye and I went with basic short dresses that are easy to accessorize and layer, perfect for a G-day outing to the DVF Journey of a Dress exibit at LACMA or a picnic at Malibu Wines. For our night look, we went with maxi dresses that showcase our personal style while staying true to the spirit of the sultry air of nighttime shenanigans. And by nighttime shenanigans, I mean staying in with a bag of kettle corn and watching The Bachelor.

With or without boxes of cards, I hope on Valentine's Day you will spread the message of love to everyone you love!
