It's been a minute since I've written an outfit post mainly because the same sets of sweats and flannel combo have graced my rotation for the past 2.5 months all marked in the same positions with the barrage of spit-up and blowout stains. Unglamorous, yes, but they serve as a vivid and unescapable truth that I am a mother. And they're damn comfortable.

While in the thick of navigating through the uncharted jungle of caring for a newborn, I seriously contemplated deserting my blog. After all, how can I continue to muse about beauty and fashion when neither existed in my life? I'd be a fraud. But then I realized that now more than ever, I need the blog as a voice of whimsy, a channel to channel creativity, and a place where I can be a mother, a blogger, a lawyer, and a wife while still pursue all that is fabulous in life. It's going to take much more work for all those things to coexist but at least I'll never be bored.

I wore this outfit, a super comfortable velvet slip dress layered with a soft pink bomber jacket from my new favorite brand Bishop + Young that will transition well from winter to spring with my new platforms to date night at Catch. Before I gave birth, the Weho restaurant and bar was the new hot spot. I'm not sure if it's still sizzling but we were able to get a 6pm early bird reservation which suits our new schedule just fine. We went, we ate, we went home, kissed the baby, and knocked out.
