{GBF Beauty + Style | Making Waves}

Most weekends, my hair is unruly, face is bare, and schedule is clear save the scatterings of blissfully big meals and equally blissful moments spent with friends and family. But two Saturdays ago, I found myself navigating across county lines hopping from the northern cusp of LA all the way down to San Diego.

After discussing the basics of fashion law at Simply Stylist's Legal Session at The Grove, I made my way to Westfield Topanga where I co-hosted a Back to School styling session. It was so rewarding styling kids and teens and providing fashion tips for their back to school wardrobe! We also had way too much fun playing dress up for #BeYourBestSelfie, a Westfield campaign aimed at empowering kids to find inner strength, beauty, and to live with positivity. Each day, they're giving away $100 for the best selfie! I loved interacting with everyone particularly the shy gals as they remind me of my younger, not-yet-ready-to-come-out-of-her-shell self. After the event, I zoomed down to San Diego to attend the Culinary Couture hosted by Fashion Week San Diego.

It was a hectic day that required the taming of my mane so I opted for soft wavy hair. It takes five minutes to style and with the right products, it's a look that will last from day to night without breaking a wave. I've had a lot of luck completing the look with Garnier Sleek and Shine Anti-Humidity Hair Spray.and am excited to share the step by step tutorial with you so please scroll down. The waves have staying power as these photos were taken the morning after!

How I achieve soft waves that last from day to night...to next day.

Step 1: Let hair air dry as the natural texture speeds up the styling process.
2. I like using a curling wand as it heats up quickly and easily creates beachy waves that hold for days.
3. Tilt the wand at 90 degree angle and separate hair into one inch pieces. Wrap each piece around the wand away from face. Repeat.
4. For a relaxed and soft look, I brush through the curls with a paddle brush.
5. Lastly, I lightly spray Garnier Sleek and Shine Anti-Humidity Hair Spray to hair. It helps hold the curls and eliminate frizz without weighing it down creating frizz-free soft waves that bounce, flow, and won't quit on you midday!
