I'm still in denial summer is over which is why I spent Sunday afternoon on the beach in my Anne Cole twisted bandeau bikini from SwimSuits Direct admiring oceanscape and reflecting on a season that shined with unforgettable moments. I lived most of June on the road seeking, understanding, and spreading joy. The trip was fulfilling but also filled out my waist line and chipmunk cheeks as I ate with reckless abandon. It was difficult to stick to healthy eating habits on the road as good eats flowed in every direction (Portland, I'm talking about you!). When I got back, I felt lethargic and bloated and knew adjustments had to be made.

After doing some research, I incorporated three things that really helped me feel healthy again. I started taking HUM Daily Cleanse tablets to clear my body of toxins. Made from vegan ingredients, the supplements deflated the bloating without any harsh side effects. I also joined ClassPass, a fitness membership where I can pick and visit ten studio classes at participating fitness studios every month. It's great for people who can't stand the generic gym and crave different fitness routines. There's a $25 penalty if I don't show up to a class which incentivized my commitment.

The last thing I did was buy a slow cooker. Notorious for eating out almost every day as my unpredictable schedule clashes with having a cooking schedule, the slow cooker was an easy fix as I could put together healthy vegetable stews and soups in a matter of minutes using Foodily, the Google of recipes.

The healthy adjustments weren't motivated by weight loss. In fact, I haven't weighed myself all summer. It was about feeling good again. After all, isn't that the root of why we want to look good?
