{GBF Life + Style} You Are My Sunshine

I'm in New York! My flight got in rather late last night and after checking into the The Standard High Line, I had just two minutes to throw my stuff down before heading downstairs to meet with my brother for a quick bite to eat. Maybe because it's fashion week or maybe because it's Chelsea/Meatpacking but it felt like the streets were littered with lanky models. I looked like a mushroom next to them but I'm sure my brother enjoyed the eye candy. I'm really looking forward to spending time with him this week. He's excited to go to fashion parties with me especially after I told him they're stocked with pretty girls and very little male competition. After dinner, I went back to hotel and worked until 3am. Snippets of mildly funny but mainly abrasive jokes from the Roast of James Franco kept me awake.

Today, I ran around pulling outfits, visiting brands and showrooms, and taking public transportation. I love riding the subway and walking everywhere as it makes me feel like a local. Plus, it's the best way to explore the city's cultural nuances. For this trip, I packed at least ten outfits and pulled another ten today which means I have a three outfit a day quota. Doable. But unlikely.

In anticipation of the high production value of my NYFW outfits, I slipped on something simple and comfortable for my bi-coastal flight. I paired my Junk Food "Little Miss Sunshine" off-the-shoulder tee with hippie chic flared jeans from Lucky Brand as I have a feeling I won't be wearing t-shirts or jeans for quite some time. It's also my way of bringing the Santa Monica sunshine with me to New York.
