With the holidays just a blink of an eye away, I wanted to share with you a few fitness classes that have sprouted in my hood. Although a 30 minute elliptical workout is my mainstay, I do try to switch it up now and again to keep the muscles just a bit on edge.

Burn 60 is a high intensity interval training (HIIT) workout combining the spirit of group fitness with personalized attention from a certified trainer. The workout alternates between treadmill cardio and strength training and is highly effective at building muscles while shedding pounds.

Speedplay is basically bootcamp with a million dollar view. The studio sits on the penthouse floor of a Beverly Hills high-rise positioned with 360 degree views of the entire city. The class alternates between running, rowing, suspension training, weight lifting, and lots of burning.

I haven't tried this yet but my Brooklynite brother highly recommends Qoya, an expression of love, spirituality, and fitness channeled through dance and yoga. The LA movement meets in Venice (duh!) twice a week.

Created by celebrity fitness trainer Jason Walsh, Rise Nation is a 30 minute full-body workout that takes place on a climber set to high energy Britney and Queen Bey playlists. It's basically the new spin class and I was shocked by how much sweat poured out in just thirty minutes!
