{GBF Style + Beauty} Triple Shine On

With summer just around the corner, the travel bug is biting every crevice of my imagination as I'm itching to pack up and explore endless summer moments. After all, inspiration strikes when experiences are lived! Where will your summer travel plans take you?

To celebrate the transition from spring to summer, I'm wearing summer on my nails with the help of Sally Hansen as they sent me a few colors from their Triple Shine collection to play with. Taking color cue from my brightly dotted scarf, I styled my outfit with a white Line & Dot tweed jacket and C.Luce silk fuchsia shorts. I wore this outfit on a busy Thursday night traveling from my girl Grasie's ALDO A-list party, a layover to support my friends over at Citizens of Humanity as they unveiled their Men Fall 2014 collection, and a final stop at the Silver Jeans Co dinner where we painted jeans while nibbling on bacon covered dates.

My original nail plan was to neatly and uniformly dot my nails for a primped look but my rudimentary nail art skills couldn't rise to the occasion so I had no choice but to go for splatters of abstractions. I like the effect as each dot varies in shape and size. Diversity is always more interesting than uniformity, don't you think?

{GBF What I Wore on Sunday Fun Day} Poppy Love

“Disclosure: Compensation was provided by Caress via Glam Media.  The opinions expressed herein are those of the author and are not indicative of the opinions or positions of Caress.”
The photo above was taken in Lancaster yesterday amidst blooming beds of poppy. I wish we could've taken a few more in the flower field but the canyon winds gusted with gusto and its trajectory was swooping up my dress. Barely able to prevent baring it in public, we decided to take cover in the car and admire the flowers from a tamer location.

It was a fun family outing that started way before my usual Sunday wake up time. My parents, the ever early risers and poppy enthusiasts, arrived at my place at an unsightly hour for the drive to the fields of poppy. Twenty minutes before their arrival, my mind and body were groggy and tilting off axis as I was still nursing the remnants of a super fun Saturday night celebrating the birthday of a good friend that extended into the wee hours of Sunday morning. After a quick shower lathering up with my Caress® Emerald Rush™ Fresh Collection Body Wash, the fresh scent of white gardenia and white tea essence instantly woke up me up.

As I got dressed, the scent of the body wash and its striking color lingered so I incorporated emerald green into my outfit which happened to be quite appropriate to wear on a day spent in nature. I wanted to feel comfortable so I layered an emerald green tee over a collared halter dress for a crisp spring look on Sunday fun day. I hope your weekend was filled with fabulous moments!

{GBF Loves Coachella} Fab Five Friday

In life, I live for moments so here are my six (I couldn't narrow them down to five) favorites from Coachella 2014!

{the windy signal that Coachella was nearing}
{taking a break from festival madness by staying cozy covered in my uber soft Paul Frank blanket while watching Monty Python}
 {taking a floating break to relax and daydream while admiring the clear blue sky and idyllic palm trees}

{losing myself in the beauty of the desert}

{getting madly excited over the Patron Tequila infused Coolhaus ice cream sandwich at the Details at Midnight party}
 {saying goodbye to Coachella but knowing I'll be back next year}
Thanks Paul Frank for being by my side throughout the weekend!

{GBF Loves Coachella} The Leo Moment

coachella music festival outfit idea
I'm a one man woman when it comes to celebrity crushes and my heart goes on and on for Leonard Dicaprio. It was love at first sight when he graced the screen with his charming baby face in Romeo & Juliet. And with the release of Titanic, my love sank into an even deeper abyss. On opening weekend, I watched Titanic three times for a total of ten hours of Jack Dawson. Since then, I've seen every Leo movie,  read every Leo interview, and cursed (in my head) every Leo supermodel girlfriend. Yet I've never felt compelled to meet him because the idea of Leo is an ideal that simply cannot be matched by reality. But at the McDonald's x Bootsy Bellows Coachella party, reality clashed with fantasy as shit got real.

I remember the five minutes leading up to the encounter with vivid clarity. I was in the restroom  breathing life into my limp hair with my Sexy Hair dry shampoo and the Spray & Play Volumizing Hairspray from their Style Day Disaster "SDD" kit  while chatting with Brittany Snow on her fabulous newly colored crimson mane. After the hair session, I grabbed some fries and ate my way to the pool area to find my friends. While still munching on fries, I passed by a cabana and casually glanced over. Although the cabana was packed, my Leo vision kicked in. He was sitting in the back wearing a white button down shirt, shorts, newsboy hat, sunnies, and sporting a scruffy beard. I dropped my fries and stood still unable to move, speak, or chew.

After a few minutes, my friends found me and got me to move to a less inconspicuous place of stalking. They asked if I wanted to try to talk to him. I shook my head as I feared rejection would shatter and crush the projected perfection fifteen years in the lusting.  So we stood a few feet away while I pretended to not stare at him. After twenty minutes, he got up and walked up the walkway to where we stood. If I wanted to say something, I'd have to do it then and there or forever hold my peace. And as he walked right past me, our bodies mere inches from touching, I couldn't say a word. I wasn't ready to end the fantasy by bringing it into the realm of reality. Leo must live.

This is the outfit I wore the day I saw Leo Dicaprio.
