{GBF Life | Weekend DIY}

Between shopping at Melrose Trading Post, watching the World Cup Finals Game (go Germany!), a little EDM dance action, and lounging poolside at the Roosevelt, this weekend is shaping up to be busy and fabulous. And I can't wait to kick it off with a Saturday DIY brunch with my favs Chanelle and Aimee where each of us will be creating a healthy dish paying homage to our favorite summer recipes.

Inspired by a recent summer tasting at The Little Door, I plan on making my favorite dish from the night-grilled peaches paired with burrata drizzled with a balsamic reduction. It's refreshing, delicious, and the perfect summer bite. Other favs from the night were the delicate and citrusy marinated octopus and the black olive tapenade rack of lamb. My favorite LA French restaurant can do no wrong!

For our DIY brunch, I'm also making my special watermelon margarita blended with Sauza Blue Agave Tequila, fresh watermelon chunks, and lots of ice. Everything tastes better with a little booze on the side.

Aside from the food and drinks, I'm incorporating DIY into my brunch outfit. Inspired by the Sauza Make Jorts with a Cowby video, I made my own pair of jorts by cutting my Silver Jeans Co Aikos. I'm pairing them with a simple T by Alexander Wang tank and my new Cosabella glow in the dark lace bralette. It's comfy to wear inside the kitchen and perfect for a casual brunch al fresco.

Saturday's going to be do it yourself fun!

Ever think you could make jorts with a cowboy? Here's your chance to meet a man who crafts his heart out. Okay, so maybe he's not the best DIY-er. But what he lacks in cutting skills, he more than makes up for when he makes the perfect Sauza-rita. Watch him in action for ideas for your next ladies' night in: http://bit.ly/1juaLln.
