{GBF Coachella Style} GUESS What I'm Wearing

As a fashion lawyer with a penchant for blazers and pointy pumps, I may not come across as your typical music festival flower child. However, I'm die hard when it comes to Coachella and am counting down the seconds to my trek back to Indio in April for yet another epic weekend brimming with fab music, fab moments, and fab friends. It's a transformative experience that always leaves me wanting more. Coachella, I can't quit you.

At the three-day festival, fashion and music collide as every iteration of boho style spans the length of the Empire Polo field. When it comes to my music festival personal style, I gravitate towards versatile clothes, shoes, and accessories that can be worn on and off the field like my GUESS floral blouse, shortalls, and white booties. When styled together, the outfit is a playful and feminine take on classic festival style. I love the soft floral print of the blouse and can see myself wearing it with just about everything in my closet. The white shortalls are a Coachella staple and are also one of the biggest spring/summer trends which means I'll be rocking them long after my weekend in Indio. I love my Sana booties which have a slight Western edge but are neutral enough to be paired with shorts, jeans, and dresses while the chunky heel provides comfort for three days of dancing and walking. .

Oh Coachella, can you get here already? I'm dressed for your arrival.

{GBF Day to Night} The Rimmel London Stay Matte Challenge

Warmer days are making regular appearances here in LA fueling my proclivity for beach outings. I love everything about the beach except the fussy humidity as it melts my makeup and creates unwanted shine. As someone with an ambitious social calendar, my day at the beach predictably ends somewhere inland as dinners and parties pull me out of the water and into the night. So, I'm always on the look out for beauty products that will keep my makeup intact so I can spend more time enjoying the ocean breeze while feeling breezy.

On Saturday, I went to Malibu for some beach side play and wine tasting followed by dinner in West LA and a spur of the moment "let's go dancing" at Honeycut in Downtown. Not wanting to waste time changing outfits or reapplying makeup from day to night, I took the Stay Matte Challenge and brought along my Rimmel London Stay Matte Liquid Mousse Foundation and a few key pieces to transition from billowy beach bum to downtown girl.
I love the velvet light texture of the mousse foundation as it feels like whipped cream. The full coverage means I don't need to use any additional concealer or powder expeditiously creating a natural canvas. A bit of blush and lip gloss completed my simple day look. On the way to dinner, I added lightweight Esqido mink false lashes to glam up my eyes and applied red lipstick, a nighttime staple. The addition of a black jacket and hat took my boho maxi dress from the beach playground to the dance floor. It wasn't until I got home after a day of humidity and dancing that I realized I didn't reach for my powder or blotting paper all day. I'm making the Stay Matte Switch!

{GBF Life + Giveaway} The Danny Tanner

When I hear "spring cleaning," I think of Danny Tanner, the sweater vest wearing patriarch and obsessive compulsive neat freak on Full House. Cleaning was his sport and spring cleaning was his Superbowl. He enjoyed the annual event immensely as it presented the opportunity to deep clean-to lift up and wipe underneath the rug, to clean behind the fridge, and to find a way to vacuum the vacuum cleaner.

Inspired by Mr. Tanner, I've begun the process of a deep spring cleaning, an expunging and rebuilding of my life angled with a 360 approach. It started with a three-day Pressed Juicery cleanse and has now moved onto my home. With the help of The Good Home Co, I've replaced all my cleaning supplies and home fragrances with their natural products which are all biodegradable, plant-based, and free from chemicals and animal testing. It's incredible how a few small changes can change so much.
In the mornings, it's soothing to breathe in the gentle scent of lavender while washing my Blendtec after making my daily smoothie that's mixed with protein powder, spinach, almond milk, flaxseed, and ground sesame.
Perfuming my lingerie drawer (my Adore Me sets sits at the top) with fragrant sachets means the first thing I put on smells like the refreshing scent of fresh cut grass.
Although peonies are not yet in season, their warm embrace greets me the moment I walk in the door as a few drops of the Peony scented oil fills my living room with my favorite flower.
Kicked out of my overstuffed closets, some of my shoes are displayed on the bookshelf, a fitting tribute as they are truly works of art. The satchets are there...just in case.
White decor themes my home yet it's a fragile color that requires diligent cleaning. Once reserved      solely for the work of damp towels, I now use glass and surface cleaner on all my white surfaces as I no longer fear chemical abrasions.

Every night, I lightly mist my pillows with Beach Days so that I drift off into sleep dreaming of the waves of Sunset Beach and the pristine crystal blue waters of Kailua.

And in the powder room where I put on my face, the process feels more simplified even though I'm constantly trying new products and working on a new "face" as I get to do it while escaping to the beach.

Spring cleaning has transformed my home into a place of escape, refuge, and sanctuary so that when I'm home, I feel at peace and...at home.

Much thanks to The Good Home Co. and Danny Tanner.

{GBF How I Wear Rain Boots in LA} Drizzle

A few weeks ago it rained in LA. So the city went into apocalypse mode as cars started acting like chickens with their heads cut off, flash warnings were splattered across every local news show, and everybody canceled plans so they could stay in as they didn't have Noah to part the sea of rain for them. Only in LA...

Here in LA, wearing rain boots during the occasional days of rain is a tricky proposition as the weather doesn't drop to ghastly cold temperatures to warrant a head to toe "it's fcking cold" outfit. And in fact, even a trench coat might be a bit too bulky for the temperate drizzle weather. Tucking jeans into rain boots is an obvious choice but due to my clumsy nature, specks of muddy rain water inevitably fleck on the denim so during the Storm of the Century, I opted to pair my Joules USA rain boots (love their amazing selection of whimsical prints and colors) with a comfy sweatshirt layered over a denim shirt for warmth, a black skirt because it just wasn't that cold, and knee high socks to balance out the outfit and to keep my legs warm. Only in LA can I get away with wearing a skirt in the rain!
