{GBF Life + Style} NYFW Style Diary Outfit 2

These pictures were taken moments after spotting famed street style photographer Bill Cunningham in his signature bright blue jacket taking pictures outside Lincoln Center. I'm a huge fan as not only does he manage to always capture Manhattan's stylish elite in a state of natural ease, he has dedicated his life's work to capturing fashion moments that contribute to the fascinating and never-ending sartorial narrative of New York City.

Most of Bill's work are never published and he was once quoted as saying, "you see if you don’t take money, they can’t tell you what to do. That's the key to the whole thing." He travels through Manhattan by bike and lives in a tiny apartment with no closet, kitchen, or private bathroom, and is filled with filing cabinets and boxes of his photographs. It was touching to see him at 9am on a Monday morning, slightly hunched over, darting from place to place snapping away with an amused smile on his face. Bill inspires me to never stop capturing my passions.

He took a picture of me. Whether that picture ever makes its way to his filing cabinet is inconsequential as I will forever hold on to the moment Bill and I connected through his lens.
