Oh Alex, say it isn't so!

This is what I have to look forward to from Alex this fall????  It's like something out of a horrendous "Dirty Dancing/Grease/Saturday Night Fever" nightmare.

Alexander Wang Fall 2010 Shoe Collection

I have a love/hate relationship with Alexander Wang.  I love his tees, knits and draped dresses and was once upon a time impressed by his ready-to-wear collection....until it got way too masculine and out of this world hipster for me.

My admiration for him was at a zenith when this beautiful grecian dress made its debut during Fall 2009.  The draping was perfect, the unbalanced one-sleeve look both modern and conceptual, and the color was an inviting departure from his usual monotones.

After this dress, everything went downhill for me.  He started coming out with undeniably unwearable pieces. Even his shoe collection, although conceptually cool, became too masculine and I found myself gravitating towards toned-down version of the styles.  But I still have faith. Faith that Alex and I will one day reunite...but just not this fall in the shoe section.
